The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is an agreement between U.S. states and provinces in Canada to simplify the reporting of fuel use taxes by interstate motor carriers who operate in two or more member states or provinces. This agreement is designed to redistribute fuel taxes paid by interstate commercial carriers.
