Alexandra Sokolenko founded Dispatch Training Center in Schaumburg, Illinois in 2013 after spending years working inside the trucking industry as a freight dispatcher and transportation professional. Over 14 years in the field gave her a ground-level understanding of what carriers and dispatchers actually deal with: finding loads, negotiating rates, managing driver files, staying current on FMCSA regulations, and handling the quarterly IFTA filings that trip up even experienced operators.
She built Dispatch Training Center because she saw a gap. The people entering trucking — new dispatchers, owner-operators trying to handle their own compliance, safety managers stepping into new roles — were learning by trial and error. Those mistakes were costly. Her goal was to give students the same working knowledge that takes years to accumulate in the field, compressed into structured live training they could apply immediately.
Since 2013, Alexandra has trained more than 4,800 students from across the United States and internationally. Her students have gone on to work as independent freight dispatchers, in-house company dispatchers, safety managers at small and mid-size carriers, and DOT compliance specialists. Many run their own dispatch businesses.
She teaches every course herself, live via Zoom. All programs — PRO Freight Dispatch Training, Trucking Safety & Compliance Training, IFTA Filings and Permits Training, and the Safety & Compliance Manager course — are delivered in real time with Q&A, not pre-recorded videos. Students receive PDF reference materials and homework assignments between sessions.
Alexandra's training covers the full scope of what the transportation industry requires: load board navigation (DAT, Truckstop), rate negotiation, carrier-broker contracts, rate confirmations, driver qualification file management, hours of service rules, ELD compliance, CSA score management, drug and alcohol testing administration, DOT audit preparation, IFTA quarterly filings, and state permit requirements for CT, NY, KY, NM, and OR.

With more than 14 years of experience in transportation, she has worked directly in trucking operations, owned a trucking company, and helped thousands of students build careers in the transportation industry.
After immigrating to the United States from Ukraine in 1999, Alexandra built her career through determination, continuous learning, and hands-on industry experience. Her passion for education led her to create Dispatch Training Center, where she has trained more than 4,800 students worldwide through live practical training programs.
